Hi! I’m Valarie,

I help organizations and senior leaders build high performing cohesive teams.  I specialize in working with global multi-cultural teams.  With a comprehensive approach of coaching, development, training and workshops, clients can effectively move through transformations while building skills, team engagement and inclusive climates.  I can help organizations and leaders thrive during reorganization, digital transformation and economic tension because I myself have led through these uncertain moments.

 

I have over 30 years’ experience in Fortune 100 hi-tech – spending most of my time creating inclusive teams that develop global software for international markets.

To execute on customer support, automated language translation and digital services, I built high performing teams with diversity of race, gender, orientation, language, education, age, location and family status.  Using empathy, transparency and high EQ, my teams delivered innovative solutions while growing and committing to an inclusive culture.  Though much of my career was spent being only one of a few women/people of color leaders, I navigated corporate structures to achieve VP/SVP titles.  I have coached and developed new leaders advancing from individual contributor to VP, CIO and Entrepreneur.  Valiant Coaching is dedicated to helping clients activate - equitable, inclusive, and accountable leadership, - that leads to high performing, cohesive teams.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.  My professional coaching education is through the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance from Rutgers University and Designing Effective Organizations through Northwestern University.  I am PCC certified through the ICF and a Fellow at the Institute of Coaching.  I am also certified in Diversity Equity and Inclusion and Executive Women in Leadership from Cornell University, and Emotional Intelligence assessment throught TTISI. My team coaching skills are through ORSC™ (Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching) training and focuses on gaining alignment, resolving conflict and team cohesion using Third Entity, Informal Constellations and Team Toxins processes.
